Expressive landscapes
Spanning painting, sculpture and mixed media, the gallery’s programme places particular emphasis on expressive landscapes, bold abstraction and works that evoke a strong sense of place and emotion. Each exhibition is carefully selected to tell a story, encouraging visitors to slow down, look closely and form a genuine connection with the art. 50 years of exhibiting fine art
Founded in 1972 by the late Brian Sinfield, the gallery is proud to be celebrating over 50 years of exhibiting fine art. What began as a fledgling idea grew into one of the most respected galleries in the region. Brian’s instinct, knowledge, and personal approach were widely admired, and his commitment to building lasting relationships with artists and clients remains central to the gallery’s ethos today.
Located on the main High Street in the historic Cotswold town of Burford, the gallery offers an elegant and inspiring setting in which to experience original paintings and sculpture by a diverse range of talented artists. Following Brian Sinfield’s retirement in 2011, the gallery continued to flourish under new ownership, carefully preserving its legacy while evolving for a contemporary audience. In 2022, the gallery entered a new chapter, maintaining its status as one of the longest-established and most prestigious exhibition spaces outside London.
21st-century traditional and semi-abstract work
Specialising in 21st-century traditional and semi-abstract work, primarily by British artists, the gallery presents a vibrant annual programme of solo and group exhibitions. These showcase widely acclaimed, award-winning artists alongside carefully supported emerging talent. At the heart of the gallery’s mission is a deep commitment to nurturing artists, promoting their work, and supporting their creative journeys.
